After crawling across parched ground to a steep creek bank, only to topple Ihirst-crazed into the dry rocky bed below, Mr William McLeod, aged 63, a prospector, died within five hundred vards of a full well, in the country l>ehind Onslow. The graphic story *of Mr- McLeod’s death following a waterless trek of 38 miles, during which his tracks indicated frantic bursts in pursuit of a mirage, is contained in a report from Constable Creagh, of Onslow.
