RACE FOR WEALTH.

INTERNATIONAL AIR CONTEST. MELBOURNE, Oct. 3. The conditions of the international air race sponsored by Sir Macpherson. Robertson, which will be a feature of the Melbourne centenary celebrations, have been released. The competitors will follow the course from England to Australia, and the race must be completed within sixteen calendar days. The prize money for the speed race is £IO,OOO and a gold cup for first place; the second to finish will receive £ISOO, and third £SOO. First and second prizes of £2OOO and £IOOO respectively are being awarded for a handicap race. The prizes are payable in Australian currency. Both races are open to any national or organisation, and there is no limit on the type, class or power of the machine used. The races will start approximately on October 20, 1934.
