SLUM BANISHMENT.
PLAN FOR MANCHESTER. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 2. In response to the Minister of Health’s call to local authorities foT a. speedier clearance of slum areas, the Manchester Corporation has before it proposals for a five-year programme of action which will involve an expenditure of £6,500,000. Thirty thousand Ironses in the city are scheduled for treatment either by clearance or reconditioning.
