VISIT TO RUSSIA.

OFFICER UNDER ARREST

Lieutenant T. H. W. Clax-ke, aged 27, of the Royal Artillery, is under open arrest at Woolwich, awaiting the decision of a general court-martial held recently. According to the Daily Mail Clarke is charged with having gone abroad after being refused permission to do so. The charge arose, it is understood, out of a holiday trip, during which Clarke visited Russia.

A high military authority told the Daily Mail that a spenial permit from the War Office is necessary before officers are allowed to visit certain countries.
