HAMILTON, Oct. 6. Over 2000 Maoris aro now camping at AVaahi, - near Huntly, where the big tangi is in progress in honour of the late King Te. Rata Maliuta. It is learned unofficially that Koroki Mahuta, aged 24, has "been chosen as the dead king’s successor at an in-ter-tribal conference early, this week. The funeral of Te Rata will take place on Taupiri Mountain on Sunday at a secret burial place, according to ancient Maori custom.
