BOXING TESTS.

TEAM’S GOOD DISPLAY. DESPITE ILLNESS HANDICAP. BRISBANE, Oct. 6. Speaking at an informal gathering after the boxing tests, Mr Bush, the New Zealand manager, spoke confidently of the visit to New Zealand next year of the Australian team. Mr McClusky, the Australian secretary, replied hopefully. Mr Bush, while elated at the success of the Dominion in the test, regretted that through illness _ and injury Williams, R. Purdie and McKay had not done better in the AustralianNew Zealand championships, but he believed they had done exceptionally well in view of the handicap in the capture of two titles with W. Purdie, welterweight, and W.Hawes, ex-feather-weight. Others who receive trophies are Neal, Lindsay, McKay and R. Purdie. The team left this morning for New Zealand, via Sydney.
