REGENT v. MANAWATU CENTRAL The Regent B (Levin) Badminton Club team visited Palmerston North last week to engage the Manawatu Central Club’s B team in the first match in the Manawatu Badminton Association’s inter-club contests in which city players have taken part this season. Each team secured eight games, but the visitors won by virtue of having 256 points to their opponents’ 246. The Regent players are mentioned first in the following individual results; Men’s singles.—H. G. Mackay lost to T. Christmas, 17 —21; A. Bennett lost to Sherrin, 19 —21 : G. Nicholls lost to Mullins. 11 —21; D. White beat Keeling. 21—10. Women’s singles.—Miss J. Forsyth lost to Miss R. Burrell, 4 —15; Miss F. Malcolm lost to Miss A. Cope, 1(1 — 15; Mrs B. M. Armstrong beat Miss V. Churchonse, 18 —13; Miss .T. Shepherd beat Miss J. Tucker, 15 —0. Men’s doubles. —Mackay and Bennett lost to Christmas and Slierrin. 16—21; Nieliolls and Wlr'te beat Mullins and Keeling, 21 —19. Women’s doubles. —Mrs Armstrong and Miss Forsyth, bent Misses Burrell and Cope. 15 —4; Misses Malcolm and Shepherd beat Misses Churchouse and Tucker. 18—13. Mixed doubles.—Mackay and Miss Forsyth boat Christmas and Miss Burrell. 21—18; Bennett and Mrs Armstrong lost, to Sherrin and Miss Cope. 21 —23; Nicholls and Miss Shepherd lost to Mullins and Miss Churchouse.
