THREE MEN CHARGED.
ALLEGED OFFENCE ON RACECOURSE. Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, June 25. An unusual case was the subject of a reserved decision by Mr Morgan, S.M. Frank Roach, barman, and Edward A. Rattray, representing the catering firm of Burke’s Limited, were charged with supply intoxicating liquor to a person under twenty-one. James Francis Cornwall, farm worker, was charged with aiding in the commission of the alleged offence. Cornwall bought a glass of shandy at a booth at the racecourse, handing 'it to his son, aged eighteen, who was not- seen by the barman. The cases against Roach and Rattray were dismissed. Cornwall was fined £1 and 10s costs.
