WEDDING.

DAVIDSON— RETTER. A slim-fitting frock of magnolia satin was worn by Miss Mavis Annie Retter, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. L. Retter, of Morris Street, Palmerston North, when she was married in All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, on Saturday evening, to Thomas Henry, only son Af Mr and Mrs T. 11. Davidson, of Knowles Street, Palmerston North. The bride was escorted by her father and made a very charming picture. Gold threat was introduced into the ruching on the shoulders of the frock and at the top of the full bishop sleeves. georgette flowers centred with gold tissue finished the neckline to meet the cowl front, and finished the sleeves. The skirt formed an oval

train headed with georgette flowers graduated from the hem. Her veil of cream embroidered tulle was held to her head with a double bandeau of plaited satin, with side posies of orange blossom buds, and she wore a crystal necklet and satin shoes to match her frock, and carried a slieaf of lilies, freesias and cyclamen and carnations providing a toueli of colour. The bride’s two sisters, Misses Gwynne (chief) and Ngaire Retter, were bridesmaids. They wore picture frocks of pink and green angelskin lace respectively. Similarly fashioned, the corsages had circular yokes edged with georgette flowers with tissue centres, and short sleeves edged with pleated georgette. The full, skirts had georgette godets finished with pleated georgette and fell to their gold shoes. At tne Kosoo tearooms, where about one hundred guests were iater hospitably received, Airs Retter wore a becoming trock of burgundy satin crepe cut ou tailored lines with a coat to tone. Her hat was ol peach bloom ( velour and she carried a posy of lemon jonquils, violets and inaideiiliair tern. She wore a blue hat and carried a posy of violets, red berries and fern. The usual felicitations were offered, Mr K. Anderson, of Palmerston North, proposing the toast to the bride and bridegroom, and there was the ceremony or cutting the handsome three-tiered cake. Pleasure was given to the company by an original elocutionary item by Mrs J. Creighton, and by a vocal j solo, “A Perfect Day.” contributed by Mr B. Collie, senr. (of Dunedin), his accompanist being Mr L, Drake. The guests later visited the home of the bride’s parents to view a pleasing array of presents, which included several handsome cheques. When Mr and Mrs Davidson left by car, Mrs Davidson appeared for travelling in a liigh-necked cedar brown tunic suit with cherry buttons, a smart coat of chenille tweed and peacli bloom velour hat, her hag, shoes and gloves in matching shades.
