PERSONAL.
Rev. A. R. Wallace, vicar of Raglan, South Auckland has been appointed vicar of Hunterville as from the beginning of September. Sir George Beharrel has been appointed chairman of Imperial Airways in succession to the late Sir Eric Geddes, states a cable from London. Rev. E. T. Jones for the past 12 years minister of the Baptist Church at Greendale, Canterbury, has accepted a call to the Morrinsville church.
Wing-Commander the Hon. R. A. Cochrane, Chief of Air Staff to the New Zealand Government, avlio attended the inauguration of the Auck-land-Wellington air service on Saturday at Pamerston North returned to Wellington by air after the ceremony.
The Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. Semple) will leave Wellington by the Wanganella for Sydney on July 8 on a health visit to Australia, as already announced by the Acting-Prime Minister. It is Mr Semple’s intention if his health permits later to investigate the Commonwealth transport and electric potter schemes. His absence Avill necessitate a temporary reallocation of his two major portfoios. —Press Association.
