MUSIC RECITAL.
PALMERSTON NORTH ARTISTES. This evening, in Wellington, an instrumental and vocal recital is to be presented by two of Palmerston North's most talented artistes, Misses Joan Paton and Margaret Feist pupils of Mr Hamilton Dickson. Both have been heard in recitals in the city and the programme to be presented in Wellington should enable them to convey adequately their artistry. It is of a particularly ambitious nature, and Miss Paton's skill as a 'cellist will be discerned Irom the wide choice of items. Miss Feist is also singing some fine among which is the aria from "La Favonta (Donizetti), one of the most famous arias for the mezzo-soprano voice. Mrs Esme Rickard, who has been associated with both performers in their appearance in Palmerston North, will play their accompaniments and lie associated with Miss Paton in 'cello and piano works. The programme to be submitted is as follows:—'Cello and piano, "Sonata in G Minor" (Eccles). Miss Paton and Mrs Rickard: operatic soli, "0 Mio Fernando" (Donizetti), from "La Favorita," "Non so pin, Cosa son" from "The Marnageof Figaro" (Mozart), Miss Feist; 'cello solo, "Concerto in D Minor" (Lalo). Miss Paton; 'cello and piano, "Sonata in E Minor" (Brahms). M : ss Paton and Mrs Rickard; vocal solos. "The Lament of Isis" (Bantock), "Like the Damask Rose" (Elgar), "Fairy Lullaby" (Quilter), "The Jocund Dance (Davies), Miss Feist; 'cello solos. "Hamabdil" (Bantock), "Melodie (Bridge). "Chanson Villageoise (Popper), Miss Paton.
