A RECIPE.

Line a pie plate with pastry and spread with jam. Then make this mixture.

Two bananas, a pinch of salt, a squeeze of lemon, whites of two eggs. Beat egg-whites very stiffly, mash bananas, and add lemon and salt. Put mixture on top of the jam and bake until the pastry is cooked. Have half a pint of preferably red jelly perpnred, and when nearly set pile it on the pie, which must.be quite cold. Too with some whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
