The Test cricketer Amarnath has accepted an offer of £SOO to act as professional to the Nelson Club. He will play in the Lancashire League in 1938. If was Amarnath who. during tho Indians’ tour, of England in 1936, was sent home as " J a' i; 3iiiciplinary measure on tho eve of the first .Test. The trouble arose over bis objections to being put into bat seventh when lie had usually batted fourth' or fifth. Ho claimed that loiters sent- to India criticising the running of the team were not sent by- him.
