MANAWATU BEAT TE KAWAU. Comfortable wins were secured by the Manawatu Basketball Association s A and B teams in matches with le Kawau at Rangiotu on Saturday. In the A grade match the Mana-watu-team comprised B. Hanson, P. Payne, J. Clevely, J. Barrie, J. Bishop, B. Mason, M. Waldegraye, A. Shaw and M. Beavis. The Te Kawau players were Misses D. Sargisson, A. Tennant, M. Fraser, E. Hill. J. Glasgow, It. Hill, E. Knox and L Murphy. This game was never in doubt. Manawatu’is .scorers were Misses B. Hanson (13), P. Payne (10), J. Clevely (9), total 32. Scorers for Te Kawau were Misses R. Hill (10), E. Knox (3), and 1/ Murphy (4). total 17. Mr W. Larkins refereed. _ Manawatu B beat Te Kawau by 28 to 16 after a hard game, the scorers for Manawatu being Misses Terry (9), Skinner (5), and Woodd (141 Te Kawau’s scorers were Misses J. Jarvis (6), P. Gray (8), and G. Par'sons (2). Miss Vautier refereed
A match between Whakarongo A and Y.W.C.A. B, played at Whnka.rongo on Saturday, resulted in a win for the former, 17 —15.
