PERSONAL.
Hon. J. G. Cobbe, of Feilding, Mr Athol Preece, of Palmerston North, and Mr J. Hare, of Cheltenham, were elected vice-presidents of the Wellington branch of the Navy League last evening. At a meeting of the Master Builders’ Association, last evening, a motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr C. N. Clausen, whose passing was deeply regretted by members. An expression of sympathy was also tendered Mr W. R. Mayes in the death of Mrs Mayes. Mr F. Callahan, who has been a booking clerk at the Dannevirke railway station for several years, and who was formerly of the staff of the Palmerston North railway station, has received notice of his promotion to Forded as stationmaster. He will be succeeded by Mr A. R. Tarr, of Wellington. The death occurred, yesterday, at his home in Havelock North, of Mr Francis Nelson, a son of one of the founders of the firm of Nelson Bros., Ltd. Mr Nelson was 68 years of age.
