AIRMAN RETIRES

Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, July 23. Squadron-Leader N. E. Chandler, pilot instructor to the Marlborough Aero Club, and the virtual founder of the club, has announced his retirement from that position 'in order to enter private business. Mr Chandler, who is one of the best known aviators in New Zealand, served with the Royal Plying Corps during the War and subsequently was an officer in the New Zealand territorial air force. Foreseeing the possibilities of the Government’s subsidised aero f.

club scheme, Mr Chandler in 1928 took tho initiative in forming the Marlborough Club. He has been pilot instructor ever sinco and has over 4000 hours flying to his credit. Ho has trained nearly one hundred pilots.
