For the second day a very interesting programme will open with tho Debutante Two vcar-old Stakes (4j furlongs), followed by tho Gonvillc Hack Hurdles and tho Trial Handicap. Being tho first classic of the season, tho Wanganui Guinens (one mile) for thrco-yjfßr-olds, should attract great interest. Tips is a sweepstake of £5 each for starters, with £3OO added. Other events on tho same day aro tho Mnrahgai Handicap, of £250 (II miles), Moutoa Hack (one mile and a distance), Owen Handicap (six furlongs), and Spring Hack Handicap (five furlongs). Nominations for all events, also forfeit for the Wanganui Guineas, will close at 9 p.m. on August 20 and weights for first day events will bo declared on August 30, acceptances for tho these closing at 9 p.m. on September 6.
