ADDINGTON SALE. FAT CATTLE FIRMER. Per Prcs3 Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 28. Fat sheep, breeding ewes, and porkers were easier at to-day’s Addington market, and fat cattle, store wethers, and baconcrs,. firmer. Store sheep,—Forward wethers, sold to 26s 6d. Good wether hoggets made to 255. Sound-mouthed ewes, well in lamb, sold at 28s 3d, but aged sorts were down by 2s a head. Fat sheep.—Wethers were down fully 2s. Ewes wore down Is 6d for heavy sorts, and there was little change for lighter ewes. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 48s -Id, prime heavy 35s to. 40s, prime medium weight 31s to 345, ordinary 27s to 30s; extra prime heavy ewes, to 35s Id, prime heavy 27s to 30s, prime medium weight 24s 6d <o 26s 6d, ordinary 20s to 245. Fat rattle.—An improvement of 10s to 15s a head. Rest beef sold up to 36s & hundred pounds. Extra prime heavy steers made to £l9 17s 6d, prime heavy £l4 to £ls 10s, prime medium weight £l3 to £l4, ordinary £lO to £l2; extra prime heifers, to £l3 2s 6d, prime £9 to £lO 10s, medium £6 5.3 to £8 ss: extra prime rows to £l2 17s 6d, prime £7 5s to £9 10s, medium £5 5s to £6 15s. Prime heavy runners made to £7 18s 6d, heavy £4 to £6, medium £2 10s to £3 15s; prime vralcrs, £3 7s 6d to £4 17s 6d. medium £2 15s to £3 ss; small calves. 25a to £2 15s. Dairy rattle.—Top price was £ll 2s 6d for a second ealver, and the best heifer price was £9 10s. Fat pigs.—An exceptionally heavy entry of porkers, and the market eased by 2s a head, except for heavy weights, which remained fully on a par with the rates of last week. Choppers made 58s 6d to £5 18.3 6d; light porkers. 28s 6d to 36s 6d. medium 37s 6d to 42s 6d, large 45s 6d to 49s 6d, extra heavy 51s 6d to 55s 6d, average price 61 d to 7d a pound; baconers, light 54s 6d to £3 7s 6d, heavy £3 10s 6d to £4 19s 6d, average price 61 d to 63d a pound. Store pigs: Medium wcaners were easier by 2s to 3s a hpad. Small wcaners made 6s 6d to B<s 6d. good 10s to 13s; slips, 15s 6d lo 17s 6d : small stores, 18s to 20s; medium 21s to 255, large 26s to 30s. VALUES AT LEVIN. LEVIN, July 23. At the weekly stock sale there wore medium yardings of pork and store pigs. Prices for pork were much firmer. A small yarding of sheep sold at prices which showed a firming tendency. The offering of cattle w*as large, both in the fat stock

and dairy divisions, and a total clearance was effected at full late rates. Prices:

Pigs.—Light porkers, 21s .to 25s 6tl: medium. 32s 6d to 355; heavy, 37s 6d to £2 10s; choppers, £2 0s 6d to £3 Is; stores, 17s 6d to 28s; sows, to farrow, £2 (o £5; sow. and litter, £4 7s 6d. Sheep: Fat wethers, 30s; wether hoggets, 23s lOd to 25s sd; wether lioggets, 22s 6d; ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, 26s 6d; ewe hoggets, 23s 8d; S.D. ram, 10s. Cattle: Light fat cows, £3 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d; medium, £5 10s to £6; heavier, £6 17s 6d to £7; extra heavy, £7 17s 6d to £8 12s 6d: prime, £l3 ss; sutlers, £1 12a 6d to £5 7s 6d; runners, £3 3s to £3 12s 6d; stores, 32s 6d to £3 12s 6d; bulls, £3 7s 6d to £6. Dairy stock; Springing cows, £3 5s to £7. A line of 30 dairy cows offered on behalf of Mr A. Bryant, Manalcau, realised from £4 15s to £9 15s. Five springing heifers were sold at £6 2s 6d.
