WHANGAREI INQUEST.

Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, July 29. An inquest concerning the death of Harry Pirihi, farmer, Takahiwai, aged 30, who died following an explosion, concluded to-day. . The evidence showed that a tin of detonators was placed near the back door of the place where Pirihi and another man were baching. Pirihi, with a lighted brand in his band, left the kitchen to light rubbish two chains away. Immediately he went out of the door there was a tremendous explosion. It was considered that an ember from the biand dropped into the tin of detonators. The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death. |
