(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIIUTEA. July 30. The July meeting of the Tiritea Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Airs F. N. Andrews, who presided over a very good attendance. Apologies for absence were received lrom Aiesdames B. Kilshy, Cunninghame, Jamison, and Aliss 1). Sniitn. The two Sunshine Visitors (Airs E. Hasloch and Miss'N. Smith) reported haring visited two sick people during July. Airs Andrews and Aliss Stilburn are to be the Sunshine Visitors for the coming month. A competition tor pastry was won by Airs E. Hasloeh, with Mrs Pinfold second and Mrs G. Edyvcan third. A competition, the best “pig” torn from paper, caused a great deal of tun and was won by Mrs A. Brill, with AI is,; D. Cunninghame second and Airs hint'old third. A roil call, “A cure for the blues,” brought forth some amusing cures. Ducts by Airs Finlay Wilson and Aim Nivan were very much enjoyed. An interesting talk on the League of Nations was given by Airs AfcKain, of Palmerston North. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. The competition for the August meeting is the bent limerick, and the rollcall “Our favourite author, and why ?” The hostesses arc Aiesdames E. Ilasloch and W. Knowles.

Mrs B. Kiisby has returned from a holiday spent in Marton. Airs S. Smith, of Carterton, who has been the guest of Air and Airs B. H. Smith, is now staying with her sister, Airs Spackman, Alan Street, Palmerston North. Miss Olga Honore, of Palmerston North, spent the recent school holidays with Air and Airs R. D. Ilase den. Aliss Nola Clreer also spent the holidays in the Valley, staying with Air and Airs Smith. Air J. G. Hasloch was a recent visitor to Taranaki. Aliss A. E. Smith, ot Taihape, paid a short visit to her homo during the week.

Quite a number of lambs have made their appearance in the Valley.
