OHAKEA
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OIIAKEA. July 29. The results of iho To Kawnu primary schools’ Rugby competition at • f e conclusion of the first round show 'hat Glen Oroua lead with 10 points, followed by Rongotea 7, Rangiotu 6, Oroua Downs 5, Ivopano 2, Sanson 0. The latter two schools drop out and the remainder play the second round. . Considerable dissatisfaction is being voiced by residents in the district, particularly those living on McDonnell’s Lino, at the state of the roads there. Deep holes exist and boulders protrude from the surface, while tree stumps are also visible; in places. Cases of damage to vehicles have been reported. It seems that nothing but a general reconstruction will do any good. Another matter which also requires attention is the danger of wandering' stock, particularly at night. One resident was involved in an accident recently in avoiding stock at night, which might have had serious consequences had he not been travelling slowly. Scores at the weekly shoot of the Rifle Club were: —S. Quinlan, 69 —69 —139; N. Leet, 68—69—137; P. Ellery, 68—69—137; G. Robinson, 68—67—135; W. Klatt, 69 66-135; IT. Ellery, 68-67-135; E.
