THOUSAND RUNS.
DONNELLY JOINS WALLACE. In all games played by the 1937 New Zealand cricket team in Britain, W. M. Wallace (Auckland) _was first to reach 1000 runs for the tour. He did this, in the course of the first innings in Scotland, on July 17. At present Wallace’s aggregate for the tour is 1258 runs for 32 completed innings, giving him an average of 39.31. Donnelly’s 144 and 14 against Surrey brings his total for the tour up to 1024; and, as he has been seven times not out in his 31 innings, he now leads Wallace in the averages, the "youthful Taranaki player’s figures being 42.66. Eighteen centuries have been hit against New Zealand, for which country the six three-figure scores have been made in this order:—G. L. Weir, 134*' v. AVorcester; M. L. Page, 109, v. Nottingham; T. C. Lowry, 121, v. Nottingham; AA r . M. AVallace, 115, v. Somerset; J. L. Kerr, 130*, v. Leicester; M. P. Donnelly, 144, v. Surrey. ‘Denotes not out.
