EG MONT SCRATCHED FROM METROPOLITAN. "SYDNEY, July 30. Bettors in the spring doubles received their first shock to-day when Egmont was scratched from the Metropolitan Handicap for no particular reason. G. Price says there is nothing wrong with Egmont. Gold Rod and Talking are doing well on the tracks. i The Australian Jockey Club stewards today disqualified for a year the ownertrainer. T. McGrath, of the gelding New Moon and the apprentice, L. Delaney, also the owner-trainer, P. J. Tierney, and the jockey, A. Thomas, of the gelding Sandon for a similar period. New Moon started at Victoria Park on Wednesday and Sandon ran at the ICcmbla Grange meeting yesterday.
