RANFURLY SHIELD.
KEEN INTEREST IN SOUTH. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 31. It is calm hut threatening for the first Ranfurly Shield match to-day. The Carisbrook ground should be in failorder. Fully four thousand visitors have come by ra.il from Invercargill and intermediate stations, with probably an equal number by road. A crowd of 30,000 is expected.
