PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, July 30. When the staff of the Tararua Electric Power Board bid farewell to Mr and Mrs J. E. Taylor last evening they presented him with a leather suit case and Mrs Taylor with a crystal vase. The opportunity was also taken to make a presentation to Miss L. Marshall, who is leaving shortly to take up her residence in Lower Hutt. After returning from a trip to Wanganui, the rabbit inspector of the Pahiatua Rabbit Board (Mr J. Steel) had the misfortune to meet with an accident at Kaitawa early on Friday morning. Mr Steel’s motor-car suffered much damage through coining into contact with a high- bank. | Tho Nireaha Rifle Club’s team boat Hukanui in a Byrne Shield, contest, by 918 points to 898. The positions of the clubs to date are as follow:—Makomako 9, Mangamntu 9, Nireaha 6, Hukanui 6, Mangatainoka 4. Konini 2.
