(From Our Own Correspondent.) BEACONSFIELD, July 30. The following is the result.of the Bennett Cup golf competition: G. Coggm, 2 down; AI. McLean, 2 down; E. Buchanan, 4 down; T. Callus, 5 down; \V. 1 attewall, 7 down. The result of the Sunday competition ie: G. Coggihv. 3 up; R. Stuart 1 down; E.. Buchanan, 3 down; 1. Cains, 6 down. G. Coggin reduced hw handicap and is now down to a handicap of 15. A mixed Canadian foursome is bc.ng arranged for Saturday, Ju.y 31. Tho Country Cnbbage Association held their final night in the Chc.tenham Hall in the lorin .it a smoke concert. Mr R. L. Stuart presided. The first part of the e\eniug was occupied by playing seven games of cribbagc. Messrs I‘. Woolford, S. Small, Wevell and T. McKenzie were the winner* of six games. Mr X. McKenzie earned off the prize, by beating F \\ ooiford in tho final Supper was served by the Cheltenham Club. The toasts of the evening were: “The King,” Mr R. E- Stuart! Ihe President,” proposed by Mr A - Stackhouse and replied to by Mr R. E. Stuait, Ills Winning Team,” Mr J. O.d—Mr J. Bat- , chclor; "The Ladies,’ Mr E - Christian; “The Cheltenham Club, Mr R. E. Stuart—Mr J. Corkhill. Mr R. L. Stuart proposed the health of Mr Isaac Marshall on attaining his eightieth birthday and Mr T Marshal! replied on behalt ot his father. The president then presented the following aggregate prizes: Waituna, Mr B. Halford; Stan way, Mr Green; Dunolly, Mr J. Whitehead; Beaconsfield, Mr E. Reeve. The following enjoyable programme occupied tho remainder of the cvenmgtedding Harmonica Band; songs, Mr Cuadingcr; community singing, Mr C. Whiteman leader Mr E. Braimvcll pianoforte; card tricks,’ Mr Rosoman; .piano-accordion, Air G Dick; trombone solo, Air C. Smith; yodelling, Air K. '-Marshall; mouth-organ duct,! Messrs Alamton; song, Mr I. Marshall. The draw for tho Rangitikei Club Shield, to be played for on Afondav, is as followsStanway v. Dunolly, at Stamvay; Kimbolton v. Waituna, at Kimbolton; Cheltenham v. Kiwitea, at Cheltenham; Beaconsfield, a bye. Aliss Lodgo has resumed her duties .at the school after attending tho Education Conference at Wellington. ' During the week’s holiday the school committeemen completed' the (concrete -area in the school grounds.
