FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
LONDON LAMB MARKET STEADY.
The Bank of Australasia has received tho following cable message, dated July 29, from its London office: Frozen lambs. —At the beginning of the month demand was disappointing; prices slightly lower; later, trade improved; prices steady for prime quality, but secondary lambs lagged owing to a larger proportion of these recently. Buyers are more active. Prices firmer, especially for heavy weights, which are becoming ehort, Australian lambs sharing in improvement. Frozen mutton. —New Zealand wethers, prices high owing to small supplies ewes. Australian mutton rather slow trade, although rather better feeling later. Frozen beef.—Larger quantities arriving; weaker values anticipated.
