DEPORTATION ORDER.
PROHIBITED IMMIGRANT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 30. “If you have nothing against the Scandinavian race, I would be 'much obliged' if you could allow me to stay in New Zealand as I intend to get married shortly,” said Charles Mikkelson, Norwegian, aged 34. when lie appeared before Mr F. H. Devien, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court, admitting charges of deserting from the steamer Herberg at Auckland on March 17 and of landing as a prohibited immigrant. A deportation order was made by the Magistrate under which accused might l»e held in custody for not more than six months pending arrangements being made for him to i>3 placed on board a suitable Norwegian ship. The Magistrate told accused that the only method to adopt to land in New Zealand would he to comply with the immigration regulations.
