BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED.

PRESENTATION TO MISS M. CURRIE. Aliss Alargaret Currie, of Hereford Street, whose marriage to Air D. Plank takes place this week, was entertained at an enjoyable four o’clock kitchen tea on Saturday. The hostess was Miss Ruth Billens, who is to be one of Miss Currie’s bridesmaids, and the function was held at her home in College Street-. Miss Billens was wearing a smart frock of cire satin patterned in pink and bine, and a tunic frock of navy and white silk was worn by Aliss Currie. Narcissi and jonquils, with asparagus fern, Iceland poppies, and birch foliage, beautified the drawingroom where the guests assembled. After afternoon tea had been enjoyed, Alisb Billens asked Aliss Currie to nocept the numerous gifts her friends had brought and Miss Currie returned thanks for the pleasing selection. Those present included.: Mrs AV. AV. Smith, Misses S. Fannin, B. and N. Oakley, P. McCorkindale (Feilding), A. Cope, J. Rowntree, P. Moran, P. Alanson, P. Edwards, N.. Smillie, D. Berryman, S. AVhitehouse, J. Scarfe, AV. AlcCowan and AI- Cooksley. Aliss Currie was met by the literary and clerical staffs of the Alanawatu Times on Saturday and was made the recipient of several gifts, Air R. H. Billens, managing-editor, thanking her for her services on the staff. Presentations have also been made to Mr Plank. On Saturday morning tbe staff of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co„ Ltd. (Palmerston North branch), gathered together and offered their felicitations. In asking Air Plank’s acceptance of a handsome china Fet, Mr H. A. Evans, the manager, offered the good wishes of the stnff. Several smaller gifts accompanied the dinner set and Mr Plank expressed his thanks. On Saturday evening members of the Old Boys’ Football Club presented Mr Plank with two casserroles.’ Air K. Eglinton (president), in making the presentation, conveyed tbe good wishes of Mr Plank’s clubmates for happiness in the future and made reference to his useful contribution to the club’s activities.
