DECREASED YIELD.
RAILWAY WORKING. A decrease of £55,513 in net revenue for the four-weekly period ended June 26 compared with the corresponding period last year is shown by the railway working account, an abstract of which has been gazetted. The figures were £14,427 lor this year and £69,940 for last. The gross revenue for the four weeks was £603,306, whjcli was £49,157 greater than last year. Expenses, were increased by £104;6'70 to £588,879.' For the 12 weeks ot the current financial year net revenue was £115,672 lower than for the same period last year, £194,396 as against* £310,068. Other corresponding figures were £264.337 in 1935, £263,109 in 1934 £212,047 in 1933. £192.253 in 1932 £211,742 in 1931’and £201,377 in 1930.’ The gross revenue was £2,005.325. an increase of £280,510, while the working expenses were £1.810,929, or £396,182 more than in 1936.
