“500” EVENING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) HALCOMBE, Aug. 1. The Hockey Club’s fortnightly “500” tournament was well attended and a pleasant evening was spent. The winners were Messrs P. Pasmussen, T. Miles, M. Wischnowsky, and N. Kano. Mr Rasmussen also won the prize for the travelling flag. PERSONAL. Mrs G. Kidd is the guest of Mr and Mrs W. K. Stowart, Stanway Road. Mrs G. A. Nieol has returned from a holiday spent with her sister at Tawa. Flat. Mr and Mrs D. (J. Managh and Mr and Mrs R. J. Managh visited New Plymouth for the Springboks Rugby match. Mr Jas. King, of Carterton, is the latest addition to the Halcombs Post Office staff. ' Mrs J. Smith, of Wanganui, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs Nelson Anderson, has now returned home. Mr Keith Fergusson, of Tokorangi Road, has returned from a motoring tour of the north. Mrs and Miss Robbie, of To Kauwhata, are visitors to Halcombe. Mr and Mrs C. C. Bleakley have returned to Halcombe after a motor trip to tl »i north..
