SINGER’S BEQUESTS.
GIFTS TO CHARITY. LONDON, July 31. The Daily Herald says that Mr Walter Kirby, the singer, left £7OOO tortile Wantage Cottage Hospital and £7OOO to the Wantage Townlands charity. The secretary of the- hospital told the Herald that the late Lady Wantage invited Mr Kirby to sing at the soldiers’ home during the war. Apparently he was so impressed that this helped him in his career that it is believed the bequests were made to show bis gratitude.
