A RECIPE.
WHOLEWHEAT PRUNE PUDDING. Two cups prunes (stoned 'and cooked), 3 cup treacle, 2 eggs (beaten), 1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda, 1$ cups wholewheat flour, \ cup milk, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg. Combine chopped prunes with the treacle and eggs. Mix in the flour sifted with spices, salt and soda. Add the milk, pour into a greased mould, and steam 2\ hours.
Bread soaked in boiling water or milk turns heavy'. When making bread puddings, soak the bread in cold milk or water, thus making it light and crumbly.
