LONDON FRUIT MARKET.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated July 30, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: Apples.—Fair demand but no improvement in prices. Granny Smith, 12s to 14s; Dougherty, 11s to 13s; Rokewood, Yates, 9s to 11s; Tasma, 9s to 10s 6d ; Sturmer, Nowtown Pippin and Rome Beauty, 9s to 10s. Nearly 4000 bobby calves -were railed away from Morrjnsville last week to the froozing works. At. current prices this represents well over £IOOO for the dairy farmers of the district. That so. many unwanted calves were sent away from the farms in one week is an indication of the extent to which the new dairying season is under way in July in the closely-set-tled country about Morrinsville, says an exchange.
