BOY LOUW’S RECORD
Regarded as the greatest Springbok forward, M. M. (“Boy”) Lomv lias been in the forefront of South African Rugby for 13 years, having first represented the Union when a 17-year-old college boy against the visiting British team of 1924 led by CoveSmith. His other international honours have been all four 'Tests in South Africa against the All Blacks in 1928, the British tour with tlie third Springboks in 1931-2, when lie played against the four Home Countries, and in the five Tests against tho AA’allabies in South Africa m 1933. Louw is a member of a famous sporting family, a brother. S. G. (“Fannie”) Louw, also winning his Springbok jersey on the British tour and against Australia. It was expected that a third member of the family, “Jaffie” Louw, would have won selection as hooker in the touring party, but he was drowned soon after the last football season ended.
