WOODVILLE SALE
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on tho Woodville sale n 6 under:— A . smaller entry of sheep with a full yarding of dairy cattle and the usual yarding of fat cows ex the dairy, came forward and wo have to report a good sale throughout for everything submitted, with practically a total clearance at auction, dairy cows and heifers selling especially well. A special entry of dairy cows and heifers on account of the Harding Estate sold freely at from £6 to £l2 ss. A lino of springing heifers on the same account, of choice quality, realised £8 2s 6d. A line of yearling Jersoy heifers, fairly well grown, of average quality, sold freely, realising £3 14s. Quotations : Medium woolly wether hoggets, 17s 6d, 18S; small woolly ewe do., 23s 6d; fat cows and heifers, £3 10s, £3 15s, £4, £4 10s, £5, £5 10s, £6; Store cows, 30s, £2, £2 7s 6d, £2 12s 6d, £2 15s to £3; yearling Jersey heifers. £3 to £3 14s; springing cows, £5, £5 10s, £6, £6 10s, £7, £8 10s, £9, £lO, £lO 10s, £ll to £l2 ss; springing heifers, £5, £5 10s, £6, £6 10s, £7, £7 ss, £8 to £8 25 fid. ASHIIURST SALE. Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report light entries at their fortnightly sale held yesterday at Ashhurst. There was a goood sale for all lots offered, with the exception of dairy cows, the demand for those being dull, bujj good heifers were in demand. Wo quote:—B.f. hoggets, 16s, 18s; store ewes, 14s 9d to 18s. Yearling Jersey bulls, 42s 6d and 455; 4yr Jersey bull, £4 17s 6d; store cows, £l 10s, £2 10s, £2 12s 6d to £3 17s 6d ; fat cows. £4 7s 6d, £4 15s, £5 2s fid, £5 10s; spg. 2yr heifers, £5 15s, £6, £7 10s, £8 ss; spg. cows, £4 12s 6d. £5, £5 10s, to £6. BULLS SALE. Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report fin the Bulls sale held on Monday when the following entries of stock came forward :—550 cheep, 60 cattle and 28 pigs. There was strong competition for all lots submitted, and we report a total clearance with the exception of an odd dairy cow at the following prices:—Wether hoggets, 19s, 20s 3d, 20s 9d, 22s lOd to 23s 8d; b.f. hoggets, 10s, 16s, 17s Id; store ewes, &s, 10s, 12s 6d. Fat cattle: P.A. heifer, £9 4s; Jersey steer, £6; Jersey heifers, £4 Is, £4 10s. £5; fat Hereford cow, £9; Jersey cows, £3 10.=, £4 2a, £4 18s, £6 12s to £6 16s; store 1 cows, £2 10s, £3 2s, £3 9s to £3 16s; springing cows, £3 17s fid, £4 17s fid to £6 12s fid; 2-yr markod heifers, spg, £lO ss; other spg heifers, £4 15s, £5 5s to £7 ss; 2-yr pedigree heifers, with transfer, 9gns to llgns.
