YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES.

Business was very quiet oti the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, the recorded turnover being well below tho average of recent weeks. Dealings were confined wholly to industrial and trading issues. Thoro was a slightly better inquiry for bank shares. Adelaide advanced 2s 6d to £6 2s fid, hut sellers were not quoting. Commercial of Australia had unsupported buyers at 18s Id. New South Wales firmed to £34 12s 6d, sellers £35 ss. New Zealand moved up to 44s 3d. sellers asking 44s Bd. Union were wanted at £lO. Financial and pastoral issues attracted little attention. • Insurance shares were quietly firm, New Zealand being quoted' at 66s and South British at 98s. Wellington Gas had business at 35a 3d. Broken Hill Proprietary were slightly firmer and following sales at. 82s 6d aiid 82s 7d buyers moved up to 83s 3d. sellers 83s 6d. Australian Glass wore firm at 945, Sellers 95s 9d. G. J. Coles were quoted, ex dividend and bonus issue rights, at £5, sellers asking £5 2s. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
