The Palmerston North Half-Holiday Association had decided against a universal Saturday half-holiday, favouring each town deciding the half-holiday question for itself. The export of "gold from New Zealand during the previous sevoii months had been 279,441 ounces, valued at £1,117,767. A new creamery had been opened at Col.vton and plan's had been made for a butter factory on tho Taonui-Colyton road. . , , The Bunnylhorpc Dairy Co. bad discussed at. length a change from buttermaking to cheese-making, due to the better price offering for cheese. The meeting had decided against the proposal.
