RUGBY FOOTBALL
FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. REPRESENTATIVE games. Tho chief event in the Manawatu Rugby fixtures for Saturday is the senior representativo match against Wairarapa, which will bo played at Feilding. An excellent contest can be expected as tho Manawatu team must have gained valuable knowledge yesterday, while Wairarapa are always redoubtable opponents. As a curtain-raiser tho Manawatu and Oroua third grade representatives will try conclusions, so altogether partons can look forward to a really interesting day. At the Palmerston North Showgrounds tho first throe matches of tho junior subsidiary competition will be played, St. Patrick’s meeting Feilding Old Boys on the oval at 2.45 p.m., while Old Boys (champions) and Jockey town provide the earlier match. Kia Toa and United meet on No. 2 ground at 2.45. The standard of junior football has been high in Manawatu this year, and bright games can be anticipated on Saturday.
