WAR GRAVES VISITED
PILGRIMAGE TO ARRAS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 5. 12.15 p.m. PARIS, Aug. 4. In commemoration of Britain’s entry into the war, the British Legionaries marched to the Unknown Soldier’s Tomh, participatin gin the ceremony of rekindling the flame. At Arras over 200,000 persons from Britain visited the war graves during the holiday season. Nearly 3000 more bodies of British, French and German troops were found on the Western Front last year.
Throughout the war there was intense fighting at Arras. Four battles were fought—in Sep jember-October, 1914- June, 1915; April-May, 1917, and March. 1918. Vimy Ridge was the chief object of these battles.
