DAMAGES AWARDED.
SEQUEL TO CAR COLLISION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 4. General damages of £ISOO were awarded by the jury in the Supreme Court to-day to John Victor Jacobson for injuries he received in a collision between his car and another at the corner of Worcester Street and Oxford Terrace. Defendant was Ala 1colm Ward Beaven. to whoso negligence the jury found tho accident had been due. TEACHER WINS DAAIAGES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 4. Alvrtle Victoria Cameron, school teacher, Christchurch, was awarded damages totalling £346 in the Supreme Court to-day for injuries received when she was knocked down by a motor-car. Defendant, a piano salesman, was Conrad Gustav Hamann. The jury deliberated for four and .a half hours, finding that both parties to the accident were guilty of negligence, but that defendant had the last opportunity of avoiding the accident.
