(From Our Own Correspondent.) FITZHERBERT WEST, Aug. 4. At the euchre and dance Held in the school room the prizes wero won by Miss S. Rose and Air D. McLauehlan. Mr 11. Kilsby acted as AI.C. On many properties ig the district lambs are to be seen, heralding the ap proach of spring, and owing to the mild winter experienced, stock arc coming in in good condition. Air and Airs H. Ilnrriss, who . have ben on an extended holiday in tho South Island, have returned home. . Miss Joan Weaver was a Hastings visitor to tho district recently. Air and Airs W. Aludgway, of tho Waikato, who were the guests of Air and Mrs Grenterox, have returned to tho m north. Miss Rose, of Campbell Street.* Palmerston North, was the guest of Aliss Brogdcn during the week-end. Air J. Gill, of Hamilton, who was a visitor to the district, has returned home. Airs J. Reilly has returned from a holiday spent in Taranaki, where sho was the guest of Air and Mrs W. AleCoard. Air 8.. Schwass, of Normnnby, is visiting relatives in the district. Air 0. Greer, who met with an accident recently, is making satisfactory progress and will soon bo about again.
