FEEDING ERRORS WITH HORSES.
Indigestion, which frequently results from errors in feeding, is liable to affect the wind of a horse, for if his stomach is distended with fermenting foods his lungs are hampered. TtjLniust be remembered, .too, that., some horses are more greedy than others, and if given the chance will over-eat, in which case an attack of indigestion is hound to follow sooner or later. The use of bulky boods is another stumbling block for many. If an animal is fed too largely upon bulky stuff lie has to consume more than his stomach can properly deal with if lie- is to get the nutriment lie requires. Young horses with defective teeth are badly handicapped unless they are fed with special care, and even when their teeth are perfectly sound they need to be watched, lest, when being given whole grain, they swallow it before it has been properly masticated. If there is any sign of this sort of thing one of the best plans is to mix a handful of chaff or clover leaves with the grain, as this will induce mastication.
