SCOTCH CONCERT.

Under the auspices of the Fcilding Pipe Band, a Scotch concert in aid of the Band Queen (Miss Joy Duncan) was held on Wednesday evening in the Majestic Theatre. Excellent patronage was accorded the concert, as the programme was of a high standard, and included many talented artists. Miss June Scott and her pupils were featured prominently in the programme, the former giving a clever acrobatic dance. Items by Miss Scott’s pupils were as follow:—Sword dance, Ruth MeDowall and Florence Woodroofe; sailor’s hornpipe, Laurel Black; til)) dance, Joy Burrell; Russian dance. Shirley Henderson; Irish duo, Isabel Anderson and Mavis Gannaway; tap dance, Coralic Blinkhorne; skipping dance, Shirley Henderson; Highland reel, Ruth MeDowall, Florence Woodrooie, Mavis Gannaway and Isobol Anderson. Items were also rendered by Messrs B. Guadinger (Feilding), H. Hall (Masterton), Haycock (Feilding) and tho Manawatu Pipe Band. Miss Marjorie Jarrctt was the accompaniste, while several numbers were led by Piper N. Cruden and Sergeant J. Patterson, of Palmerston North, and Mr E. Cricht-on.
