KUKU-MANAKAU FACTORY.

REVIEW OF THE YEAR. The first annual report and balancesheet of tlie Kuku-Manakau Cooperative Dairy Company since the closing down of the Manakau factory and amalgamation with the Kuku Dairy Company, was adopted at the annual meeting of shareholders, presided over by the chairman of directors, Mr R. G. Wall. The report for the period September 1, 1936, to June 30, 1937, showed the following quantities had been manufactured: Butter, '651 tors 4cwt 1001 b; cheese. 201 tons 16cwt 161 b, and the average grade of export butter was 94.03. There were no gradings for The balance to the credit of the butter and cheese working accgunts will enable a final bonus of a lb butterfat for cream supplied for butter, and 4-id a.‘ lb butterfat for milk supplied for cheese. This will make a total average payment for the season of Is ljd a lb butterfat for butter and Is 3id a lb butterfat for cheese. Advances to butter suppliers totalled £54,338 15s 6d ; export sales, £26,385 9s 7d; and local sales, £49,673 14s 4d. To cheese suppliers’ advances totalled £8197 3s 7d, and local sales totalled £13,798 11s sd. The factory manager, Mr J. M. ’Wvlie, said that suppliers of cream were to be congratulated, as the percentage of 93.78 of finest must be almost, if not actually, a record for New Zealand.
