MEMOIRS WITHDRAWN.
I-lAILE SELASSIE’S DECISION. LONDON, Aug. 5. The News Chronicle says that Ilailo Selassie’s memoirs, including his personal account of the Abyssinian war and the events leading up to it and since last autumn, have been withdrawn for “political reasons.” The London publisher, Mr Michael Joseph, to whom Haile Selassie was under contract, said Selassie’s solicitors informed him that for political considerations that could not be revealed he would be unable to publish the manuscript. Mr Joseph added: “Hailse Selassie’s decision is not due .to political pressure but to advice received from his political advisers.”
