TRADE REVIVAL.
POOR RELIEF LESSENED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 4. Evidence that the beneficial results of the British trade revival are reaching all classes of the community is contained in the quarterly statement just published of the number of persons in receipt of poor relief in England and Wales for the quarter ended March, 1937. The total number in receipt of relief was smaller in each week of the quarter than in the corresponding week of 1936, the number in the last week of March being 73,230 less than in the last week of March, 1936.
