COUNTERVAILING DUTIES.
AMERICAN ANNOUNCEMENT. WASHINGTON, Aug. 7. Australian and German products are most frequently penalised by countervailing duties, according to a Treasury announcement, which shows that the products of nino nations arc subjected to this impost. It is pointed out that tiie duties are necessary owing to the effors of foreign nations - towards economic sufficiency.
