M. Guipon, the celebrated French motorist, when speeding at 80 miles an hour near Boulogne, endeavoured to avoid two cyclists. The motor-car turned two somersaults and crushed him to death. A conference of beekepers in Wellington decided to form a federation. The world's automobile mile record was shattered, by Oldfield, the well-known racing motorist, who covered tho distance in 49 2-ssec.
