MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
The Manawatu Couuty Council met in the County Chambers oh Thursday last at 2 o'clock pan. PRESENT. Crs. McNeil, Loudon, Halcombe, McDonald, t McArthur, Gower, and Thynne'(Ch.airman) .- MINUTES. The minutes of the lasthneeting were read and confirmed. DOO INSPECTOR. Councillor McNeil said, if in order, he would ask that the Constable at Paimerston be allowed to have, one shilling for each dog he registered, instead of sixpence as now paid him. He (Cr. McN/eil) said that the Police were not no}? allowed a horse by Government, but if the shilling was allowed it would give the Constable a chance of using a horse, and so go into the district and be able to find out the dogs that were not registered. ~ It was agreed to let the matter remain over until another meeting. * ADDITIONAIi MEMBER. The Council then resolved itself into a special meeting, to consider Gr.Halcombe's motion >e another member for the Manchester Riding. ; Cr. Halcombe asked to have the matter adjourned to the. next sitting of the Council,, "which was agreed to. i ; -*■ The Council then resolved itself back to the ordinary meeting, and immediately after it. was resolved into committee to go into the accounts of the Ridings. After sitting to late in the afternoon, the Council adjourned until Thursday, the 11th instant. ■■•-,..-. ;
